Cardella, Ralph Bivings, and former Prisoner of war Gordon Redtfeldt. In
February 1949, 50 boxcars arrived in the U.S., filled with gifts of gratitude from
French citizens. California's boxcar, beautifully restored, now rests outside
American Legion Post 509 in Fresno.
