October 5, 2008: Al Sciacqua of Fresno, CA. Served in the U.S. Coast Guard
during World War II. A Madera High School graduate, Al ended up playing
basketball at Fresno State under the legendary Dutch Warmerdam. For years, Al
has used his singing talents, in English and Italian, to entertain veterans at the
VA Medical Center in Fresno. He has traveled the country for veterans' singing
competitions, and in 2008 took home an impressive haul of medals from the
National Veterans Golden Age Games.
