August 24, 2008: Eli Setencich of Sanger, CA. Eli flew 142 combat missions,
starting in an A-36 Apache, then transitioning to P-47 Thunderbolts. Flying with
the 526th Fighter-Bomber Squadron of the 86th Fighter-Bomber Group, he
would earn the Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster. He would
continue flying with the Air National Guard in Fresno, CA, where a brief stint in
radio and television was followed with a 41-year journalistic career at the Fresno
Bee.
